Austin is cool. Austin, TX.

It didn’t take long to realise Austin is one of the best American cities i’ve been to. For it’s laidback approach, mixed with Texan ‘no bullshit’ truth, and a real strong design scene. This pic is from arriving at the Omni Hotel in Austin. After several nights here I was made a ‘platinum’ member which swing us a very handy two bedroom suite overlooking Austin. The rooftop pool made from stainless steel convinced us to stay a week.

Interstate. Houston, TX

Graceland Too, Holly Springs, Mississippi. I’ll elaborate on this one shortly, suffice to say this is the real deal elvis collector turned psycho-collector. A tour around his shrine to Elvis starts with mere fascination, and ends with pure fear, as you find the electric chair in the backyard. Photos inside are hard to take, because if he thinks you are getting distracted, a tap on the shoulder and a whistel, swings you back into line. A recommended visit instead of the overly-touristified Graceland proper.

Road Warrior: It begeneth.

Picked up the Mustang from Atlanta yesterday, I asked if they had any of the 2010 model available yet, and after almost been convinced of a Hertz Chevrolet Corvette instead, a bullet grey 2010 ‘ztang gurgled onto the forecourt. What followed was perhaps one of the quickest Atlanta to Nashville drives known to man.

Beaut art gallery that puts on events on an almost nightly basis. Jenn from Landor gave me the low-down on this place, Tuesday was Sketch Tuesday, which was a loud, hot night where illustrators work on whatever they want, while the rest of us drink, and jeer them on. As the night progresses, the drawings get better and better, (In vino veritas?) and we all got a chance to buy something. I stalked a local artist, pic on the right - Seth Armstrong, and bought a great piece from him.
